What is the date of the Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend?

The Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018 (the weekend before the Ostrich Festival) in Downtown Chandler.

The Ostrich Festival Kickoff weekend will consist of the annual Ostrich Festival Parade, the Mayor’s Fun Run, a Classic Car Show and the Public Safety Fair.

Where does the Chandler Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend take place?

Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend will take place in Downtown Chandler beginning at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, 3 S. Arizona Ave.

The Public Safety Fair will be held at the Chandler Police Department’s main station located at 250 E. Chicago Street and in front of the Fire Health and Medical Headquarters located at 161 E. Boston St.

What time does the Chandler Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend begin?

• The Mayors 5K Fun Run and Youth Run will begin at 7:30am at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park.
• The Ostrich Festival Parade will take place at 10:00am. The parade route will begin at Arizona Ave and Ray Rd and travel south down Arizona Ave concluding at Chicago St.
• The Public Safety Fair hosted by the Chandler Police Department and Chandler Fire, Health and Medical Department will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m.
• The Ostrich Festival Car Show will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m.

Where is the best place to park for Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend? How much is parking?

There is a number of parking structures located surrounding the event site including at 100 E. Boston Street and 105 E. Buffalo Street. Parking is free.

Are lawn chairs permitted at Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend?

Yes lawn chairs are permitted.

What are the dates of Ostrich Festival?

The Ostrich Festival is open March 9-11, 2018 at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler, Ariz.

Are cameras, drones and GoPros allowed?

Professional photo and video equipment of any kind is not allowed on festival grounds. This includes but is not limited to professional photo and video cameras, drones, GoPros, etc.

What are the admission prices?

General Admission Pricing for 2017:
Adults – $10
Seniors (55+) and Child (5-12 years of age) – $7
Children under 5 – FREE

VIP Ticket*- Adult: $50

VIP Ticket* – Child (5-12): $30

*Includes VIP Tent access, (1) Meal, (3) drink tickets

How much is group admission?

Are tickets refundable?

Ticket purchases are final and are non-refundable.

Are there any safety measures for children ?

Child safety check-in booths are located near each entrance. Children will receive a wristband with their parents phone numbers. Should they be separated from their parents, children will be taken to the Child Safety Pick-up located near the first aid tent.

Are there any prohibited items?

The following items are prohibited from the Ostrich Festival:

  • Outside food or drinks
  • Fireworks
  • Video cameras and cameras longer than 12 inches (includes body, lens & filter)
  • Unmanned Aircraft Systems & Radio
    Controlled Model Aircraft/Drones. (Strictly prohibited on park property)
  • Coolers and hard containers
  • Pets (except assistive animals)
  • Skates, skateboards, skate-shoes, all cycles, hover-boards and Segways.
  • Weapons (guns, knives, etc.)

Are rides free?

Ride tickets and unlimited ride wristbands can be purchased for an additional fee at the festival.

Ride tickets can be purchased at the festival for $1 each, 25 tickets for $23, and 80 tickets for $70.

Unlimited Ride Wristbands will be available for purchase at Valley Fry’s Food locations for $27, or for $30 at the festival.

Can I charge my cell phone at the festival?

Yes, charging stations will be throughout the festival to use for free as a courtesy to our guests. .

What is a Fast Pass?

Includes seating in the Ostrich Arena (first-come, first-served) and expedited entry to select Meet & Greets and select Carnival Rides. 2018 details to be announced soon! 

Where is the handicap accessible parking?

Handicap accessible parking is located on both the east and west sides of the festival. Designated lots are annotated on the map.

Where can pedestrians be dropped off/picked up at the festival?

Drop off and pick up must be done on the East entrance off of McQueen near parking lot #1. This includes Uber and Lyft pick-ups and drop offs.

Where are nursing mothers allowed to breastfeed?

The Ostrich Festival is family friendly and encourages mothers to breastfeed anywhere on our property they feel comfortable.

Can I bring my pet to the festival?

Only registered service animals will be allowed to enter the festival.

Are lawn chairs allowed into the festival?

Yes, lawn chairs are allowed. 

Can I bring outside food/drink to the festival?

Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the festival. Exceptions will be made for medical needs.
